Same Same but Different

It’s been a tough old time for markets and traders lately but we’re pleased that, with some new safety measures in place, we’re FINALLY able to start trading again at The Harbourside Market.

Here’s a quick rundown of the commitments we’re making to you, our traders and staff safe at the market during Covid-19.

Behind the stalls

Masks & Gloves

You’ll find all of our traders wearing masks and gloves while serving or preparing food on the stalls.

Food off the front line

Cooking will now be done either behind a protective screen or away from the front of each stall.

Handwash facilities

Each stall is equipped with handwash facilities for their staff and our market managers will be periodically topping them up with fresh water throughout the day.

CASH FREE

The market is now cashless so it’s cards and contactless payments for the foreseeable.

In the market

Fenced off

There’s now a perimeter fence around the market to help prevent overcrowding. On your way into the market site, you’ll have access to hand-sanitiser and will be asked to wear a mask.

CAPACITY

We’ve reduced our capacity by 60% to make sure there is plenty of room to manoeuvre around the market site.

GRAB AND GO

We’re running a take out service for now only so that means, for now, there’s no seating area within the market. Fortunately, there are plenty of spacious places to eat nearby.

Nice two-metre, two-metre nice

Each stall will have designated floor markings showing you where to queue safely and the site will display clear signage to encourage everyone to adhere to the social distancing guidelines.

Hand Hygiene

You’ll find a hand sanitiser station available at every stall, meaning you can make sure your hands are spick and span before tucking into some great food.

We’re really excited to be back, serving street food safely in the city centre. Hope to see you on the quayside soon.
